Celebrations Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. I wish you all a very happy 2024 and hope the New Year got off to a fabulous start.

In today’s post, I’d like to share my DT creation for Creative Knockouts. The theme for the next two weeks is “Celebrations”, and Streamside Studios as our generous sponsor offers a gift certificate to one lucky winner, so I really hope you will find some time to join us.

It’s been a while since my last interactive card, so I decided to make a shadow box card. After cutting and scoring my card bases, I stenciled some circles onto one card base with Distress ink in Broken China. While this was drying, I die cut a window from the other card base. Next, I colored all these adorable images using Copic markers. They are from a set called Sea Critter Squishes, and I just love all of those chubby sea creatures! After fussy cutting the digis, I added white highlights, and set them aside to dry. The assembling process itself was very simple: I first adhered a frame to decorate the window, then glued down all those seaweeds and shells. I then added the sentiment, so I could find the right positions for the sharks. Recycling thin strips of acetate, I adhered the shark images between the two card bases.    I really love how they move around, it looks like they’re dancing. The card seemed to be busy enough, so I didn’t add    any embellishments and called it a day.

I hope you like how it turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs,

Jinny
