A Summer Card for A Place to Start

Hey there and welcome. I hope you’re doing very well. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for August is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of ‘Summer Things’.

The image I used on this card is called Eat & Drink: Enjoy Summer. For coloring, I grabbed markers. I then glued the panel on orange card stock and on my card base. As a finishing touch, I added some sequins, and my summery card was done.

An Interactive Card for A Place to Start

Hey there and welcome. I hope you’re doing very well. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for May is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of ‘For a Child’.

Many children love interactive cards, so I decided to make one. I started with stenciling the cloud background. While it was drying, I colored the adorable images with markers. They are from Vera Lane Studios, but I couldn’t find them on the site anymore. Maybe they are discontinued, I don’t know. To make them fly, I adhered acetate strips on the back of the images. After assembling all the pieces, I stamped the sentiment. As embellishments, I added some flowers, and my card was done.

A Bookmark in Black, White, and Red

Hey there and welcome. I hope your week got off to a great start. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for April is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of using Black, White, and Red.

I’ve never tried this color combo before, so this challenge was actually a really big challenge for me :-) Well, I just grabbed some DP pieces and started to make a background panel. But some strips were just too short to cover a whole card front. And as I could not find any more scraps, I decided to make a bookmark instead. As embellishments, I adhered some white flowers and leaves and also added some twine.

A Sparkly Christmas Card in Pink

 Hey there and welcome. I hope this month got off to a fantastic start for you. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for December is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of Happy Holidays.

To make this card, I started with die cutting some snowflakes from double-sided tape sheets. After adhering them onto white cardstock, I cut it in various shapes and sizes. One of them, I inked using Distress Oxide inks in various pink shades: Picked Raspberry, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, and a touch of Seedless Preserves. While it was drying, I tore some vellum in two strips. On one of them, I stamped the sentiment with StazOn ink in Jet Black. I then removed the backing paper from the snowflakes and added some very fine silver glitter. I worked that in very well by rubbing it into the adhesive. Next, I wrapped the vellum pieces around my panel. To glue it onto my card base, I grabbed some foam tapes. It’s so hard to catch on the pictures, but the sparkle of the glitter is so pretty in real life, I just love it!

A Card in Rainbow Colors for ‘A Place to Start Challenge’

 Hey there and welcome. I hope this month got off to a fantastic start for you. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for November is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of including thankful sentiments.

For this challenge, I made a thanks card. I wanted to use up my stack of scrap white card stock, so I die cut a lot of hearts. To create some dimension, I glued three of them together. I then adhered them directly onto my card base. Next, I carefully colored them using markers. Because of the dimension, it was really easy to do. I then die cut the sentiment and glued the letters onto the hearts. As a finishing touch, I applied Crystal Stickles and Glossy Accents, and my card was done.

A Bookmark in Pink for ‘A Place to Start Challenge’

 Hey there and welcome. I hope this month got off to a fantastic start for you. In this post, I would like to share my DT creation for A Place to Start Challenge Blog. The theme for October is as always Anything Goes with the optional twist of using the color pink.

For this challenge, I made a bookmark. It’s one of my favorite ways of using up all the little scraps of patterned paper. After making the base, I colored the gorgeous image called Tulip Flower Girl with markers. Next, I fussy cut and adhered it directly onto my bookmark. Then, I added white highlights and faux-stitching lines. For stamping the sentiment, I used Rich Cocoa Memento ink.
