A Monochrome Birthday Card

Hey there and welcome to my blog. Today, I want to share a birthday card, which was quite challenging to make. I rarely make monochrome themed cards, so I was definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. But I am pretty satisfied with the result, so maybe I will make more of them in the future. Okay, enough babbling, let’s get started with the card.

When making it, I followed a sketch provided by My Favorite Things challenge. I started with stenciling the cloud background on my card base. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, which happens to be one of my favorite colors of Distress inks. It has been a long, long while since I last used rubber or clear stamps, so I kind of had some trouble with stamping the images. It took me some time to get the hang of it again :) Thank goodness there is a stamping tool! After coloring the adorable images with alcohol markers, I hand cut them leaving a thin white edge. Then, I die cut a stitched circle out of vellum. Next, I colored a small piece of vellum with pink alcohol markers and hand cut a cloud shape. Using double-sided tape, I adhered the vellum pieces and the images. After die cutting and adhering the sentiment, I applied Crystal Stickles on the letters and the pink cloud. As a final touch, I added some white highlights here and there, and my card was done.

I hope you like how it turned out and thanks for stopping by.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Jinny

It is a tough choice, but if I could use just one color for the rest of my life, it would be pink. I realized the markers and Distress ink pads I had to refill were all pinks. And my shortest colored pencils are also pinks, so I must choose pink as my favorite color :)

Another Birthday Card for a Child

Hey there and welcome to my blog. Today, I want to share a birthday card using sunny and bright colors. For coloring the adorable image, I grabbed my alcohol markers. As the colors are really vibrant, I didn’t want to add too many embellishments, so I ended up gluing three small banners cut from patterned papers. Then I stamped the sentiment (My Favorite Things stamp set) using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. As a final touch, I added white highlights here and there, and my card was done.

I hope you like how it turned out.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Jinny

A Sparkly Happy Birthday Card

Hey there and welcome. In this post, I want to share a birthday card. To make it, I grabbed one of my favorite (but badly neglected) rubber stamps. It is such an adorable image, but I don’t reach for it very often because using digital images is just too convenient, right? Anyway, after stamping this cutie, I colored her up with alcohol markers. Instead of stamping a sentiment, I did some die cutting: the eclipse technique is one of my favorite ways to add a sentiment, so I ended up doing it. Then, I grabbed a sponge dauber and Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves and made a dotted background on the card base. Next, I matted my finished panel on dark navy card stock and glued it onto the card base. After adhering my die-cut sentiment, I applied Crystal Stickles on it, and my card was done.

I hope you like how it turned out. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Jinny

Be Joyful No Matter What :)

Hey there and welcome. Today, I want to share a Christmas/winter card. The image I used is called Snow Fun, and I think it’s just hilarious! So much fun! After coloring, I backed it with red scalloped card stock and then heat embossed the whole thing using sparkle embossing powder. When tilted in the light, the sparkle is just so beautiful, I love it. The card base I stenciled using Distress Ink and a snowflake stencil.

I hope you like how it turned out. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Jinny
