Time to Be Merry Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. In today’s post I want to share my DT project for Creative Knockouts. The theme for this week is Time to Be Merry, and Laurie Furnell Ink as our generous sponsor offers 2 digi sets for one lucky winner, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

The set the DT played with is called Christmas Gnomes, and it contains five adorable gnomes images. As I could not decide which one to use, I just made three Christmas tags using three different images. To color up those gnomes, I grabbed Prisma color pencils. I don’t make tags very often, but it’s such a great way to use up paper scraps. After adhering the images onto the vellum pieces, I added baker’s twine, and the tags were done.

I hope you like how they turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs,

Jinny

Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. Today I want to share my DT project for Creative Knockouts. The theme for this week is Anything Goes, and Twinkle Lane Designs as our generous sponsor offers £8 voucher code (digis only) for one lucky winner, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

To make this card, I started with inking up my card base with DI in Vintage Photo. I wanted to achieve a kind of ‘structured’ look, so I grabbed a sponge dauber to do that. While the card base was drying, I colored up the adorable image using Prisma colored pencils. This beautiful digi is called Autumn Girl, and the sentiment used on the card is one of those included in the set. The assembling process was pretty simple: First, I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the fall-themed DP and adhered that onto the card base. Then I glued down the panel. Next, I tied the bow. As I don’t have a bow maker, it always takes me like ages to tie a bow, but this time it really turned out beautiful :) As a final touch, I added some gems, and my card was done.

I hope you like how it turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs,

Jinny

Lots of Layers Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. Today, I want to share my DT project for Creative Knockouts. The theme for this week is Lots of Layers, and Hetty Clare Art as our generous sponsor offers 2 images for one lucky winner, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

I must admit that this week’s challenge was a real challenge for me because I do not often add many layers on my creations. I gravitate towards CAS, so my projects tend to be simple with the focus on the main image. Anyway, let’s go on with how I made my card. First, I started with coloring the adorable image called Hamster Party. For coloring, I as usually used Prisma colored pencils. And here is where my struggle began: I just couldn’t find the patterned paper that I had intended to use (and my stash of DP isn’t even that big!). Eventually, I had to give up searching, but luckily enough I happened to find some other scraps :) After doing quite a bit of die cutting, all I had to do was just adhering and assembling all the parts. To add as many layers as possible, I also grabbed some baker’s twine and banner die cuts to create the sentiment. As a final touch, I applied Diamond Stickles and added faux stitching, and my card was done.

I hope you like how it turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs,

Jinny

Anything Goes Challenge at The Crafter’s Cafe

Hey there and welcome. Today, I want to share my DT project for The Crafter’s Cafe. The theme is Anything Goes, and Polka Doodles is our generous sponsor, so I hope you will find some time to join in the fun.

To create this card, I started with stenciling the card base using DI in Vintage Photo. While that was drying, I colored up the adorable image called Out and About - Honey Pie with Prisma colored pencils. As my color combo, I chose to go with fall orange and brown shades. I really wanted to keep the focus on the image, so all I did was to hand cut and adhere the image onto a piece of white card stock. Luckily, I then found some scrap orange card stock, which I used to back the panel. After stamping the sentiment, I applied Stickles, added lots of white dots, and the card was done.

I hope you like how my card turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Hugs,

Jinny
