Hey there and welcome. Today I am sharing my DT project for the Crafter’s Cafe. The theme this time is “Dots and/or Stripes”, and we also have two wonderful sponsors: Creative Bug offers 5 images, and from Morgan’s Artworld you can win the same images as the DT used for this challenge.
The image I used is called “Fantasy Fae Digi 2”. It is such a detailed image and fun to color. I wanted her hair color to be purple, so I first finished coloring her hair, then just grabbed the other colors. Before inking the background with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, I die cut this beautiful diagonal striped background out of double-sided tape. Then instead of gluing down the positive piece, I adhered all the negative pieces (the stripes) onto the card base. Then I inked up the background, let it dry a while, removed the release paper from all the stripes and added holographic embossing powder (Ranger). It is actually too hot and humid to use a heat tool, but I couldn’t resist using this absolutely gorgeous embossing powder. As the name says, it is holographic, so when you tilt your project in the light, it looks sooo stunning, I just love it!
