A Summery Flower Card

Hey there and welcome. To make this card, I used a new (to me) stamp set with gooorgeous flowers, just beautiful!
For coloring, I picked watercolor pencils. One edge of the panel, I decorated by using a border die. Then I die cut the sentiment and colored it in with blue metallic paint. While it was drying, I added small dots on the flowers and leaves with metallic paints again. As a final touch, I drew faux stitching, then added blue dots here and there, and the card was done. The shine is so beautiful in real life, but is so hard to capture on photos (so sad about that)...

I hope you like how my card turned out.

As You Like It Challenge-Summer or Autumn (In real life, I neither enjoy the intense heat nor the high humidity during summer, so autumn is definitely the winner. But when it comes to crafting, I prefer summer to autumn because I love to use bright colors, and when digging in my stash, I realized that I even don’t have enough autumn related items to enter this challenge :D)

A Happy Birthday Card

Hey there and welcome. For this card, I did some masking and so created a simple garden scene. This girl image is too adorable, and I think it goes pretty well with the flowers. For coloring, I used watercolor pencils. I ran out of my red card stock, so I inked up an ivory card base using Candid Apple Distress Oxide Ink and spritzed it with water to achieve a speckled look. I then adhered the prepared panel directly to the card base. As a final touch I used metallic paint to add some strokes on the flowers. It is quite subtle, but it shines beautifully when tilted in the light :)

Have a ‘Musical’ Christmas!

Hey there and welcome. This time I have a Christmas card to share with you. To make this card, I used a digi, which is not exactly a typical X-mas image, but the moment I saw this adorable conductor, I thought ‘maybe he is conducting Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker’. Well, who knows :)
Anyway, I wanted to make a flat card, which goes nicely through mail, so I did a bit of die cut inlay. I also did not add any embellishment, but instead used a gel pen in gold to draw faux stitching and some dots. When you tilt it, the subtle shine of the gold is visible :)

I hope you like how my card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and keep safe!

Flora and Fauna Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. Today I want to share with you my DT project for Creative Knockouts. This week’s theme is "Flora and Fauna". The Artsy Stamper is our generous sponsor and offers one digi set to one lucky winner, and that could be you, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

For this challenge, I made two cards.
My unusual color choice for a turtle might seem weird, but the first card I made for a very special friend, who is suffering from cancer. I can’t imagine how hard it is for her, especially during these times of this horrible pandemic and social distancing. She happens to have two tortoises, and pink is one of her favorite colors, so I decided to use pink and purple shades for coloring. She also loves glitter, but I did not want it to come off and transfer on her fingers, so I used metallic paints instead. The metallic splashes not only shine beautifully, but you can also feel some texture when touching them.

The second one is a mini card. I have recently started to make mini cards, and I love them! The advantage of resizing digis is really helpful here. So, after printing out three small (different sized) turtles, I colored them in and used foam tape to adhere them. Then I stamped the sentiment, and my card was done.

I hope you like how my cards turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

‘Male’ Challenge at the Crafter’s Cafe

Hey there and welcome. Today I am sharing my DT project for the Crafter’s Cafe. The theme is “Male”, and Bugaboo as the fabulous sponsor offers 4 images to one lucky winner, and that could be you, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

I used the adorable image called Sunbonnet Fish 2. I wanted to make a circle shaped card, but then decided to go with a square card. I cut out different sizes of circles from scraps of watercolored paper and glued them onto the front of my card base. As a final touch, I added faux stitching and also drew some bubbles here and there.

I hope you like how my card turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

A Flower-Shaped Card

Hey there and welcome. I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy. Yesterday, I grabbed some of my neglected rubber stamps and just enjoyed the process of coloring them with watercolor pencils. I then chose this adorable image to make a simple card. After die cutting the card base, I glued down a piece of patterned paper and adhered this cutie with foam tape. As a final touch, I added white dots using a gel pen and stamped the sentiment.

I hope you like how my card turned out.

A New Challenge at Creative Knockouts

Hey there and welcome. Today I want to share my DT project for Creative Knockouts. This week’s theme is called “Tag Time”, so make a tag or include a tag to your projects. The fabulous sponsor Fabrika Fantasy offers 3 images to one lucky winner, and that could be you, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

This card actually started with the sentiment (‘you will find the way’) that I had in my head. I needed to make a masculine encouragement card, so, I chose the image called “Traveling Bird”. I decided to add a small sentiment tag
as I did not want to cover any parts of this detailed image. After printing out the sentiment, I adhered it on a circle tag.
I didn’t glue it down, but cut a slit and attached it behind the panel, so that it can move around. I think this adds a bit more interest to my completed card.

I hope you like how my card turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

A Belated Birthday Card

Hey there and welcome. I hope all of you are doing well. For today's card I used an image, which is an oldie but a goodie, and I colored it using my watercolor pencils. I also found some leftover scraps of water colored paper, which I used to die cut the beautiful borders. They are lacy, but I thought it would be fun to use them as waves and simulate water. Before adhering all the prepared elements, I added some clouds to the front of my card base. I don’t have any cloud stencils, so I drew some cloud shapes on the back of the release paper of double-sided tape, cut them out and used them with Tumbled Glass distress ink. Then I adhered the image and the borders with foam tape and stamped the sentiment. As a finishing touch, I added some gems and white dots, and my card was done.

I hope you like how my card turned out.

My First DT Project for the Crafter’s Cafe

Hey there and welcome. Today I am so excited to share with you my first DT project for the Crafter’s Cafe Challenge blog. Our theme this time is “Anything Goes”. The fabulous sponsor is SheepSki Designs offering 3 images to one lucky winner, and that could be you, so I really hope you will find some time to play along with us!

The gorgeous image I used is called 50’s Chic image no 98. For me, a girl from the 50’s should wear a beautiful polka dot dress, so after coloring, I added all the dots with a white gel pen. I wanted to keep the card really CAS, so I die cut a border and colored it in with alcohol markers (the same colors that I used for the image). Then I adhered a thin strip of double-sided tape, added some embossing powder in the color Verdigris and heat set it. After gluing down the finished border, I added three gems and many white dots. Finally, I stamped the sentiment, and the card was done.

I hope you like how my card turned out, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!
