A twist pop up card

Hi there and welcome. This time I am sharing with you a twist pop up card. This is the first time I made such a card and I love it. But first of all, I want to show you the front of my card.

The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches. To create the background, I stamped the heart shaped jewels. After coloring them, I put some glitter and thick coats of Glossy Accents (to try out the resist technique) and let them dry overnight. To color in the background, I first used Distress Inks on my prepared piece and then spritzed it with water. After it was dry, I took red watercolor and flicked little specks on that. To finish off the front, I just stamped the sentiment on to another piece of watercolor paper.

And now comes the inside which was so much fun to make! 

On the bottom I left some white space for writing a personal message. 

I just love this image and the sentiment!

Oh my, it´s a OLC

Hello and welcome. Today I am sharing with you a one layer card. I don´t know about you, but I find it quite difficult and challenging to make a one layer card.

The image I stamped with reddish brown pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear glitter powder. Most of the times I color my images using watercolor pencils and therefore love to heat emboss my images. 

To color the image, I first scribbled the colors carelessly because the water does the blending anyway.To make the coloring more defined and vibrant, I usually pick up additional colors directly off the pencils. When I color the hair, I kind of “flick” the brush. After the coloring was done and dried, I masked off the image (hello, Post It) and flicked some blue, green and orange spots and specks on to the background. To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment and rounded the corners.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Diesmal zeige ich euch eine One Layer Karte. Ich persönlich halte OLC für eine kniffelige Angelegenheit, aber dennoch wunderschön. Da ich fast immer Aquarellstifte zum Kolorieren verwende, liebe ich die „Heat Embossing“ Technik für meine Stempelabdrücke. Auch hier wurde das Motiv heat embosst und die Farben hingekritzelt. Nach dem ersten Verblenden mit Wasser nehme ich weitere Faben direkt von den Stiften, um die intensive Farbe direkt an die Pinselspitze zu bekommen. Nach dem Kolorieren habe ich mit Hilfe von Post It das Motiv abgedeckt, um ganz feine Farbkleckse auf die Kartenvorderseite zu verteilen. Zum Abschluss nur noch den Spruch hinzugestempelt, die Ecken abgerundet und fertig ist meine Karte.

A Wedding card

Hi there and welcome. This time I am sharing with you a wedding card. 

I kept the card quite simple to keep the focus on the beautiful image. It´s hard to see on the photo but my final layer of paper is actually vellum to mute down the color of the patterned paper. In real life the color turned really soft this way and I wish I could capture this on the picture..

A colorful birthday card

Hello and welcome. Today I am sharing with you a birthday card. The sketch for this card comes from Tuesday Morning Sketches and I love it! I think sketch challenges are just great because this way half of the “work” is already done.

The monster is from a Paper Smooches stamp set (which is one of my all time favorites) and I watercolored the image. Instead of putting the googly eyes on the monster´s eyes I used them as embellishments. This time I also decorated the inside of the card to add the sentiment. Well, I couldn´t resist and stamped the image and drew a balloon around the sentiment and watercolored them.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Diesmal zeige ich euch eine kunterbunte Geburtstagskarte. Der Sketch ist von Tuesday Morning Sketches. Sketch Challenges finde ich wunderbar, weil sie einem sozusagen die Hälfte der „Arbeit“ beim Basteln abnehmen. Das Monster ist aus einem Paper Smooches Stamp Set, welches einer meiner Favoriten ist. Die Wackelaugen habe ich diesmal als Embellishments verwendet und für das Innere der Karte habe ich den Spruch, das Motiv gestempelt und den Ballon um den Spruch gemalt.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Die dritte und letzte Karte für heute ist eine Weihnachtskarte. Für diese Karte habe ich keine Weihnachtsmotive verwendet, sondern aus Sommermotiven meinen Weihnachtsbaum kreiert. Der Baum ist zusammengestellt aus Korallen und der Stern ist eigentlich ein Seestern.

Winter card with a simple design

Hi there and welcome. This time I am sharing with you a simple winter card. 

 

I stamped the image and clear heat embossed it. But after water coloring it, 

I didn´t like the shine of the clear embossing therefore I ironed it off. As I didn´t want anything to compete with the image I kept the rest of the card quite simple. I just dry embossed white cardstock and folded the card base to a gatefold card. I skipped the sentiment therefore the card can be used for any winter related occasions.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Diesmal zeige ich euch eine Winterkarte. Das Motive habe ich mit klarem Embossing Powder embosst und mit Aquarellfarben ausgemalt. Nach dem Kolorieren gefiel mir der „Schein“ des klaren Embossingpulvers nicht mehr, so dass ich den embossten Umriss des Motiv weg gebügelt habe. Da das Motiv der Hauptpunkt meiner Karte sein sollte, habe ich nur noch weißen Cardstock geprägt und die Karte zu einer „Gatefold-Karte“ gefaltet. Auf den Spruch habe ich verzichtet, damit die Karte zu vielen Anlässen im Winter passt.

A CAS card

Hello and welcome. Today I am sharing with you a CAS card. 

The background I created with the block stamping technique using distress inks. The images and sentiment were stamped directly on the water color paper. I then traced the outlines with a black gel pen to make them look really crisp. It´s hard to see on the photo but in real life they really stand out. I didn´t want to go overboard with embellishments (to keep the card CAS), so I ended up with a small heart and two googly eyes.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Diesmal zeige ich euch eine CAS Karte. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit der Block-Stamping Technik kreiert. Die Motive und der Spruch wurden direkt auf das Aquarellpapier gestempelt. Danach habe ich die Linien mit schwarzem Gel-Liner nachgezeichnet, um sie mehr hervorzuheben. Zum Schluss nur noch ein Herz und zwei Wackelaugen und fertig ist die Karte.

Birthday fishes

Hi there and welcome. This time I am sharing a birthday card. 

I printed the image on vellum and colored it on the backside using Copic markers. I then turned it into a shaker element because I wanted to add some sequins. I adhered the vellum too tightly on the white cardstock therefore the sequins do not shake well enough for my taste… I did not want to waste it so I made a tag out of it and adhered that to a card and I think it´s okay.

Creative Craft Cottage – January Blues

Hallo und herzlich willkommen. Für diese Geburtstagskarte habe ich das Motiv auf Transparentpapier ausgedruckt und auf der Rückseite koloriert. Ich wollte Pailletten hinzufügen und ein Shaker-Element daraus basteln. Nur habe ich beim Zusammenkleben zu wenig Raum für die Pailletten gelassen, so dass sie sich zu wenig bewegen… Zum Wegwerfen fand ich es zu schade und als letzte Lösung habe ich es zu einem Anhänger umgewandelt und auf eine Karte geklebt.

Love You Tons Card

Hi there. Today I am sharing a Valentine´s Day card. 

 

The color inspiration comes from this beautiful inspiration board from Lawn Fawnatics. I just love all the hearts and the white and red color combination. So lovely and yet classy…

To make this card I used a brand-new mini stamp set (well, new to me at least). The elephants I heat embossed using black glitter embossing powder. The sentiment I heat embossed using white powder. To assemble the card I followed the wonderful sketch  provided by Tuesday Morning Sketches. To finish off the card I added some gems to make it sparkle and bling!

Hallo, diesmal möchte ich euch eine Valentinstagskarte zeigen. Die Farbinspiration kommt von oben gezeigtem Inspirationsbord von Lawn Fawnatics. Diese Farbkombination ist natürlich ein Klassiker und auch die Herzen sind so zuckersüß! Für diese Karte habe ich ein für mich neues Mini-Stempelset von Lawn Fawn verwendet. Die Motive wurden mit schwarzem Glitter Powder, der Spruch mit weißem Powder embosst. Der tolle Sketch für die Karte ist von Tuesday Morning Sketches. Für den gewissen Bling sorgen die Strasssteine!
